TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) was introduced to address the shortcomings of PVC. It does this really well and the 16 year history in New Zealand has proven TPO to be a very good single ply membrane choice. The strong point of TPO is its ability to withstand UV rays without sustaining any real effect as PVC, another advantage or plus in terms of more efficient roofing is that duroTUF TPO reflects more heat than it absorbs and prevents a high percentage of heat from being transferred into the building. duroTUF TPO also has the benefit of the thicker exposed surface film thickness, zero vapour transmission and Waterproofing Systems has had duroTUF TPO QUV tested in New Zealand by BRANZ to reassure specifiers that with the increased UV rays and longer summers duroTUF TPO will be their best selection.
